8:30
- 11:30 a.m. Scheduling is flexible; children may attend everyday,
or on a part-time basis (days are set at enrollment). The morning
preschool class is taught in small group form, and children have
the opportunity to be involved in both short and long term projects.
Classwork is age appropriate and tailored to the specific needs
of each child. Our lesson planning is theme based, covering subjects
such as safety, outer space, and health and nutrition, in addition
to basic kindergarten skills. A complete list of themes is available
for parents at the time of registration. This class is ideal for
the children of stay at home mothers, and also for parents who wish
to give their children the opportunity for social interaction with
peers children as well as a head start on schooling as well as.
We
also offer a before and after school program, as well as full-time
summer care for children ages kindergarten through twelve. Buses
from both the Ball and Chatham school districts pick up and drop
off at the Center. During the school year, children are escorted
to and from the buses by the Pleasant Park staff. After school care
includes a snack, time to complete homework, and various activities
including art, reading, and dramatic play. Full and half-day care
is available on days that school is not in session. Our summer school
age program includes approximately two field trips per week, lunch
and snacks, all of which are included in tuition cost. Parents are
given a schedule of all planned outings at the beginning of the
summer, and must sign permission slips accordingly. The summer program
follows weekly theme based and age appropriate lesson plans that
provide time for fun and relaxation, as well as learning.
In
addition, the Chatham facility has access to transportation to morning
and afternoon preschool classes in both the Ball and Chatham school
districts. Children who attend preschool within the district are
escorted to and from the appropriate buses by Pleasant Park staff.
